Waterdown East Neighbourhood

A great place to raise a family.

The Vibe

Waterdown East caters to the modern day lifestyle most families seek. Convenient to both Hamilton and Burlington, it’s a small urban oasis within natural surroundings. Mature neighbourhoods are shaded by tall trees while more contemporary ones offer divergent house styles and sizes.

Families are kept busy with their school aged children’s interests. It’s home to outdoor enthusiasts, those who enjoy a walk with their pet, or mature individuals who have come to appreciate a quiet home life.

What's the Waterdown East Neighbourhood all About

The neighbourhood consists of newer and established districts. Any and all detached and attached styles are present and vary in age. New subdivisions are under construction along Dundas Street, attracting move-up and first time buyers and investors. Older properties are often home to the original residents, or being purchased and renovated to current building standards and aesthetics.

The Smokey Hollow Waterfall alongside the Bruce Trail, is a beautiful spot to visit in any season. Frequently referred to as Grindstone or Waterdown Falls, it’s a fast flowing waterfall amidst a forest backdrop. The Waterdown Memorial Park and Skatepark features sports fields, skateboarding, an outdoor public ice skating loop and tobogganing. The park is the venue for many annual community events; Ribfest and the seasonal Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony, to name but two.

Waterdown East shares the same retail and professional services as the West neighbourhood: plazas or free standing locations found along Hamilton or Dundas Streets, the Clappison’s Power Centre and Flamborough South Shopping Centre. The East is also conveniently close to the stores and services along Brant Street in Burlington.

The neighbourhood is a great place to raise a family. Activities, daily essentials, and nature are a short trip away. Trees host the symphony of birds throughout the year.  Children play after school street games and soccer at the parks. It’s a community of contrasts: old and new, quiet and fast-paced. That’s Waterdown East.
