Southwest Oakville is a mature and a highly sought after neighbourhood. Wide tree canopied streets, large pool sized lots, and escalating home prices reflect the popularity and transitioning nature of the community.

Travelling by car typically requires 30 to 45 minutes but expect this time to increase during rush hour as the QEW/403 corridor is the main travel route between Oakville and Toronto.
Travelling from Oakville or Bronte GO to Union station by transit includes an express train during rush hour skipping all stations past Clarkson saving about 10 minutes overall. The all-stops train visits key destinations such as Exhibition with a commuting time of around 42 to 48 minutes.
Travelling by car to the downtown commercial district typically requires 22 to 40 minutes which can fluctuate a little during rush hour. The QEW/403 corridor is the main travel route between Oakville and Hamilton.
Travelling from Bronte or Oakville GO to Hamilton GO station requires about 36 to 42 minutes. Keep in mind that not all trains travel to Hamilton during off-peak hours and you may need to connect with a GO bus.
Southwest Oakville is evolving. Development occurred between the 1950’s and 1970’s. The YMCA of Oakville provides the aquatic, health, fitness, and family programs associated with the organization. For seniors, the Sir John Colborne Centre caters to all levels of interest and ability with a variety of social, recreational, health and wellness activities.
The neighbourhood has the enviable position of being about midpoint between the downtown centres of Old Oakville and Bronte for retail, dining, amenities and attractions. The South Oakville Mall serves as the community nucleus for groceries, banking, professional services and entertainment.
Southwest Oakville exudes a sense of calm and well being. Shaded streets are the scene of after school road hockey, and driveway basketball games. Manicured front yards and carefully tended back gardens host neighbourly summertime pool and patio parties. Autumn colours bring out artists and photography enthusiasts, and winter streets are reminiscent of snow covered winterscapes on a greeting card. Southwest Oakville is an attractive neighbourhood to settle into and happily call home for decades to come.
Tai Chi, Zumba, Line Dancing, Pilates and Yoga are just some of the physical fitness activities at the Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre. There are programs for every interest, and a variety of social get together’s. The annual summer Seniors Picnic at Coronation Park is fun for the whole family.
