Small in size. Big in convenience. Plains is well established, matured, walkable, and geographically close to amenities and transportation. Property affordability makes entry level home ownership possible.
The neighbourhood is a mixture of families, empty nesters, and retirees. Ideally situated, Plains is particularly popular with GTA commuters.
Plains may be small in size, but giant in appeal. Original and renovated traditional and ranch style bungalows, older and newer two storey and split level detached, along with townhouses and high rise condominium developments are all available in Plains. A few custom built infill properties are popping up in the community.
Leighland Park is the neighbourhood park of choice to watch baseball games, enjoy basketball and tennis, walk the dog, or just let the kids have a great time in the playground.
Plains Road, and Brant and Fairview Streets, have everything from car dealerships to stand alone restaurants. The Walmart Supercentre is an area staple and just a short drive away – the Mapleview or Burlington Centre Malls. Many grocery, retail, restaurants and professional services are shared with Aldershot.
Imagine the benefits of living so near to the attractions and ambiance of Burlington’s downtown commercial district. Shopping, entertainment and daily essentials are practically on your doorstep. Transportation and commuting alternatives couldn’t be closer or better. The residents of Plains enjoy a diverse, vibrant and comfortable neighbourhood.
In agreement with the City of Burlington the volunteer group, Friends of Freeman Station, have assumed the responsibility of preserving, restoring and managing the Burlington Junction Station, one of the last surviving Grand Trunk Railway stations. The building was saved from demolition and moved to its current location where the interior has been restored, a new platform added and tracks laid. The station has interesting railroad artifacts and a popular model train display.
