Pinedale is a neighbourhood filled with green spaces, where residents share the benefits of having good schools and a pleasant and active community. With a wide assortment of architectural style, age and dimensions, homes occupy lots of decent proportion.
Pinedale is a superbly liveable neighbourhood for families in any stage of life.
There’s something for everyone in Pinedale. The majority of development took place during the 1960’s/70’s. Bungalows from traditional, ranch and raised, along with split levels of every kind are prevalent, with many undergoing renovation to bring them up to the standards and finishes currently in demand. A pocket of two storey, two car garage homes built in the 1990’s are favoured by many growing households. For younger families starting out, or for downsizers, a good mix of link, semi-detached, and townhouses are available. A cluster of high rise buildings along Pinedale Avenue near Appleby Village Mall and newer mid rise condominium buildings along Fairview Street suit those wanting maintenance free living.
Sherwood Forest Park caters to family activities and fun with amenities that include baseball diamonds, fields for rugby and soccer, an indoor gymnasium, playground and trails. For aquatics, there’s the Burlington Centennial Indoor Pool on New Street. The Centennial Bikeway, an extensive multi-use path popular for walking, running, and particularly cycling, is a safe and secure trail crossing through the three communities of Pinedale, Dynes and Longmoor.
Appleby Village Mall at the corner of Appleby Line and New Street provides the neighbourhood with grocery and retail stores, banking, professional services, take-out food and restaurants. The RioCan Centre Burloak is a quick trip away for additional shopping and entertainment. Small strip plazas and stand alone businesses and eateries can be found along Burloak Drive and Appleby Line.
Much of the community, hovering around 55 years of age, can boast of mature trees and carefully manicured front lawns; where kids play together on the street, and neighbours out for a walk, greet one another. Family values, recreational opportunities, and important conveniences frequently within biking or walking distance, combine to make Pinedale a popular Burlington neighbourhood.
Did you know The Burlington Centaurs Rugby Football Club with men’s, women’s and junior teams is headquartered at Sherwood Forest Park? Their clubhouse can be rented for private parties and events.
