Dynes Neighbourhood

An excellent multi-generational example of community.

The Vibe

Dynes is appreciated for its relative affordability. As many houses could benefit from being refreshed, the neighbourhood attracts families who are unafraid of taking on a renovation. The area’s maturity and diverse residential styles, on decent sized yards, gives the community its own special character.

As is common for suburban neighbourhoods, Dynes consist of families at various stages of life, but there is a fairly good representation of those over the age of 65.

What's Dynes Neighbourhood all About

The neighbourhood is an excellent multi-generational example of community. The majority of homes were built throughout the 1960’s/70’s and consist of the popular detached styles of the time; traditional or raised bungalows and split levels. Later, two storey homes joined the mix. Townhouse properties are abundant throughout the community and there is a concentration of condominium buildings along Dynes Road.

Ryerson Park provides a community location to walk, bike, watch the kids enjoy the playground apparatus or catch a local baseball game at the diamond. Centennial Bikeway, an extensive multi-use path popular for walking, running, and particularly biking, runs through the Dynes, Longmoor and Pinedale communities. It’s a safe and secure trail for cyclists of any skill level – beginner to expert.

The Burlington Centre Mall is not only a neighbourhood commercial destination, but it attracts shoppers from all around. Plazas on either side of Fairview Street offer big box retail, groceries, coffee shops, eateries and professional services. For many, shopping and dining destinations are walkably close. Centrally located, Dynes is a short drive to everywhere and everything in Burlington.

Residences, modest in size, are for this very reason in demand by downsizers or move up condo owners. With a little imagination and know-how, bungalows and split levels are being transformed into comfortably updated homes. Young families to retirees, and those in between, share and appreciate the convenience and unpretentious ambience of Dynes.
